Pregnancy guidance
AvoidSwordfish must be strictly avoided during pregnancy according to the FDA and EPA. As a large apex predator, swordfish accumulates the highest levels of methylmercury found in commercial seafood. Maternal methylmercury exposure crosses the placenta and can impair the developing fetal brain and central nervous system. Swap swordfish for low-mercury options like wild salmon, cod, or canned light tuna to obtain beneficial seafood nutrients safely.
How to read this
During pregnancy you need more of certain nutrients each day, like folate, iron and choline. Each bar shows how much of that daily amount 100 g of Swordfish provides. 100% means 100 g alone covers the whole day; smaller numbers show its share. A โ marks 100% or more.
