Pregnancy guidance
RecommendedGruyere cheese is recommended during pregnancy as an exceptional source of dietary calcium. Because Gruyere is a hard, cooked-curd cheese with very low moisture, harmful bacteria cannot survive even in traditional unpasteurized varieties. It provides dense protein and vitamin B12 that assist in fetal cellular formation. Melt Gruyere into a vegetable frittata or grate it over cooked whole grains.
