Pregnancy guidance

Safe with precautions

Bottled pomegranate juice is safe to drink during pregnancy when commercially pasteurized. It provides potassium, folate, and polyphenols, but contains concentrated fruit sugars without whole-fruit fiber. The FDA requires commercial shelf-stable bottled juices to undergo pasteurization to protect against foodborne pathogens. Limit your intake to four ounces daily and consider mixing with sparkling water.
