Pregnancy guidance
AvoidCamembert cheese should be avoided during pregnancy unless thoroughly cooked until bubbling hot throughout. Like other mold-ripened soft cheeses, Camembert provides an ideal environment for Listeria monocytogenes contamination. Both the FDA and NHS advise pregnant women to steer clear of raw or cold Camembert cheese entirely. If served in a hot baked appetizer cooked to 165°F, it is safe to eat.
