Pregnancy guidance
AvoidPartially hydrogenated soybean oil should be avoided during pregnancy because it contains harmful industrial trans fatty acids. Trans fats trigger systemic inflammation, raise harmful LDL cholesterol, lower protective HDL cholesterol, and pass across the placenta to the fetus. The FDA has banned partially hydrogenated oils from the food supply because they are not recognized as safe. Check legacy processed food labels and reject any product listing partially hydrogenated oil.
