Pregnancy guidance
LimitStandard fruit jams and preserves should be limited during pregnancy due to concentrated sugar content. They provide bright fruit flavor and small amounts of vitamin C, but commercial recipes add large amounts of refined cane sugar. Excessive consumption of sweet spreads can drive blood glucose instability. Spread a light teaspoon over whole-grain toast or stir into plain Greek yogurt.
