Pregnancy guidance
LimitFruit-juice sweetened jams should be limited during pregnancy despite being free of refined cane sugar. Concentrated fruit juices still provide dense simple fructose that can trigger maternal blood sugar spikes. While they contribute small amounts of vitamin C, they lack the dietary fiber found in fresh whole fruits. Spread a thin layer on whole-wheat muffins and pair with fresh fruit slices.
