Pregnancy guidance
LimitCanned sweetened condensed milk should be limited during pregnancy because of its high concentration of refined sugars. Commercial canning and heat processing make it sterile and safe from bacterial pathogens, while providing calcium and riboflavin. However, its extreme sugar density can trigger rapid blood glucose spikes and excessive calorie consumption. Use only small spoonfuls occasionally when baking or sweetening warm beverages.
