Pregnancy guidance
LimitBeef tallow should be limited during pregnancy due to its high concentration of saturated fatty acids. Rendering beef fat at high culinary temperatures kills bacteria, making it microbiologically sterile. However, consuming large amounts of saturated fat can elevate maternal LDL cholesterol and cardiovascular strain. Use sparingly for occasional high-heat searing, opting for olive or canola oil in routine meals.
