Pregnancy guidance
Safe with precautionsRegular stick margarine (80% fat) is safe with precautions during pregnancy when verified free of partially hydrogenated oils. It provides plant lipids and vitamin E, but historically stick margarines contained high levels of unhealthy trans fatty acids. The FDA has eliminated added industrial trans fats, making modern formulations safer for maternal health. Use in moderation when baking or sautéing vegetables.
