Pregnancy guidance
LimitCinnamon sweet rolls are safe to enjoy on rare occasions while pregnant, but they should be strictly limited. Enriched flour provides minor iron and folic acid, but the sugary cinnamon filling and glaze deliver concentrated calories and simple sugars. The USDA Dietary Guidelines warn that frequent consumption of sugary baked pastries increases the risk of excessive gestational weight gain. Cut a sweet roll in half to share, or choose whole grain cinnamon toast instead.
