Pregnancy guidance
Safe with precautionsTomato-based steak sauce is safe with precautions during pregnancy when used sparingly. It supplies minor amounts of vitamin C and potassium from tomato paste, but commercial bottles are packed with sodium and sugar. Excessive sodium intake can worsen pregnancy swelling and fluid retention. Use a teaspoon to lightly flavor thoroughly cooked steak rather than pouring heavily.
